Saylor Consulting Group has played a part in the various aspects of the NIF, providing at various times, design phase estimating, mechanical/electrical change order evaluation on the Conventional Facilities building, and now project controls on the Beampath Infrastructure System project. This football stadium sized facility will house a series of 192 laser beamlines that run the length of the facility, and are powered by batteries so powerful that they could light the entire United States for a nanosecond. In this instance, all this power will be concentrated on a target chamber, which holds a fusion fuel capsule the size of a dime, heating the fuel to a temperature in excess of 100,000,000 degrees in the hopes of creating nuclear fusion. Saylor Consulting Group is proud to be associated with this truly one of a kind facility.
